• Tolvis Maltern

The charismatic leader of an anti-technology cult on the planet of Maltern’s Folly, Tolvis is grandson of the colony’s founder, Dolan Maltern. He is the planet’s spiritual leader, a shaman who piously proclaims that while his grandfather might have come to the island looking for material riches, what his followers have found is something much more valuable: spiritual wealth. 

He promotes the Obsidian Way, a philosophy revealed to him by the elemental spirits of Vodan. The Vodan explain that it is only through austerity, and a willingness to push oneself to the absolute breaking point, that true clarity of purpose can be found. 

He and his followers, which number about four hundred, live in a cliff town known as Uplift  in the side of the island’s largest (and apparently dormant) volcano.

• Chido
• Gener/Race: Male Rodian
• Class: Scoundrel 4
• Role: Information broker
• Location: Jolus, Zebulon Beta, Vargis Tau System

Chido is the being to meet in Jolus if you need the latest street news, rumors or happenings. He is a fixture at The Durosian Gremlin, a cantina popular with pilots as well as a variety of smugglers, scoundrels, and risktakers who are unlikely to print their job descriptions on a business card.

He has contacts throughout Jolus’ underworld (such as it is) including its various swoop bike gangs, petty criminals, corporate freelancers, and ship captains.

• Corcen Ardayen
• Gender/Species: Male Human
• Class: Nonheroic 8

Corcen Ardayen was a wealthy young aristocrat when the Great Sith War ended. So when the rebuilding of the galaxy occured, Corcen was there to benifit. Using his wealth, he bought up cheap property and built new hotels and apartment complexes across the Hydian Way. Now some 25 years later he is one of the wealthiest and most powerful real estate developer in the eastern outter rim.

Corcen is also well known for his love of archiology, specifically pre-hyperdrive civilizations. He has funded numerious digs throughout the galaxy and is also said to have the largest private collection outside the Core Worlds.

• Jedi “Mistress” Phaenia
• Gener/Race: Female Umbaran
• Class: Jedi 7 / Noble 1 / Force Adept 4 / Jedi Master 1
• Role: Master of Technology

Jedi “Mistress” Phaenia of the Unified Force Academy was a young girl from one of the mid-level social classes on her shadowy home planet of Umbara when she was identifed as having abilities in the Force. Her family was proud to see her selected for Jedi training, as it brought a certain level of prestige, and thus raised their social standing on their world.

As a youngling, Phaenia showed great aptitude with mechanical and electronic devices. Her race is prone to being secretive and reclusive, and Phaenia took to working on broken equipment rather than spending time with other younglings practicing with the lightsaber. She was selected as a Padawan to a Pau’an Jedi Master, as his race also favored the darker environs that Umbarans prefer. He taught her many of the introspective Force techniques such as Farseeing, Foresight, and Force Visions. She also discovered some others on her own, particularly the dangerous use of Force Lightning, believing that she could use it to power repaired devices or droids… though she quickly discovered that its use was tapping directly into the Darkside, so she avoids using it and keeps knowledge of it secret.
